However, recently I tried a new shop just because I was walking by and they had a chair available (will not say the shop). It was a very poor haircut, so I rushed over to Rebellion to see if I could get it fixed. Not only did they fix it, they didn’t charge me! TOP 3 things to bring with you to the barber shop
We are the first barber shop in Victoria to standardize our consultation. Each barber may have their own way of presenting it, but they are all looking for 3 key pieces of information in order to get you the haircut you want.
What length do you want on the sides?
What length do you want on the top?
How do you want to style your hair?
The best way we’ve learned, so far, to guarantee we understand what you want is to use visual confirmation for each of these criteria. This probably sounds obvious, but you might be surprised to know that around half of the people we give a visual confirmation to change their mind when they see what they are asking for represented visually. Not everyone is familiar with our clipper guard numbers, or even the metric or imperial systems, so instead of assuming, we show, and it always results in a better experience for our clients.
After these 3 things are known, we have a general blueprint and it makes it virtually impossible to produce a surprising result. Every barber has heard stories of people going into a barber shop and leaving with something completely different than what they asked for. Being one of the main complaints in our industry, we decided to put enormous effort into eliminating that pain point.
When a system like ours is put so plainly, it may lead some to believe there can be no style or personality to the haircut. This couldn’t be more wrong, in fact, having this blueprint gives each barber incredible freedom to personalize your haircut in their own way, while staying within your predetermined boundaries. Every client represents a new set of challenges, whether it’s texture, hair density, head shape, length, or personal style.
BONUS TIP:
If you have trouble describing what you want, the best way to leave happy is to find reference photos online of a haircut you like. Just make sure to keep in mind the three pieces of information we are looking for. For example, if you find a haircut where the top is exactly what you want, make sure to let us know. It's okay to have multiple photos to describe what you want for each part of your haircut. Our highly trained barbers will be able to emulate anything you find online, as long as it’s compatible with your hair.
Since we don’t take appointments at Rebellion and are open 7 days a week for walk-ins, you can stop by anytime! If there’s a particular barber you prefer, you are more than welcome to wait for them.
